I had chosen Brazil because of its proximity to the United States. I thought that since it was so close to the United States, that it would have been influence by it. Especially since The U.S has been supporting their invitation into the U.N. Like the U.S, Brazil is a democracy and has to deal with it's fair chair of corruption. However, Brazil is closer to completing some of it's MDG's before the U.Ss Both deal with poverty put it seems as if it will complete the first MDG before 2015. One of the biggest challenges still in Brazil is gender equality which leds to racial equality. It was hard to find a way to promote gender equality, even with a law in place that says that men and woman are equal under the eyes of the law.
I found this project to be rather difficult. I wouldn't want to be an ambassador for a country and now have some understanding how hard it is for some ambassadors to help change a country.
